I'm going to do this. But I'm going by myself, and hope that I don't see anybody I know.
Is this the exact opposite of racing? If so, that's kind of where I'm at right now.

What a natural fit...
The aesthetic appeals to me, but...just I am afraid that all the (other) participants would be insufferably self congratulatory and smug.
I'd go after I'd hit several dive bars in my finery and via the bicycle and then it wouldn't matter.
But that's me.

We should dress in work clothes, ride our work bikes, and represent The Grapes of Wrath side to that era.
Pack up the family and move to California. I hear there's work in those groves.

Insufferably self-congratulatory and smug is the general state of cycling in Portland, Oregon, USA anyhoo. Couldn't really get much weirder or worser.
As least they won't be naked. Because that happens more often than is to my liking.
