The mind can barely grasp what this kid does on a bike.
Sorry for all the lame video posts lately.
Wifey took the Lads to grandma's house of weird food and strange ideas this weekend.
I plan on doing some serious daytime drinking/troublemaking in the next 48, so should have something of substance to share with you all by sunday.
Summer's about had it, and the shit weather is right off the bow, so make it count.

Once again I have to hand it to my pal Jonny Hamachi for bringing this joint to my attention. It's things like this that make me really, really fucking glad that I don't live in the East Bay anymore.
This is probably going to be The Most Hectic Race Ever. Have fun, you suicidal fucks. I'll think about you while I'm waiting out a long red ('cause that's how we roll in Portland).
Another good one here that I haven't seen in a while:
Probably only genius if you love the Velvets as much as I do. And I do.

No, I didn't buy myself a sweet new salsa frame and a pair of eerewspooks. Though, I must admit, the thought of doing either or both of those things has very recently been filtered through the dingy, beer-soaked bar-rag that sits where my brain used to lie.
Thankfully, massive inhaled doses of Vittoria Mastik One has helped straighten me out. (aside: Me, and my new to me Ksyriums cannot fucking wait for cyclocross season to start)
Good old Jonny Hamachi took our recent, serious convo (the one where we decided that next time he comes to Portland we are not going to spend the majority of the visit either drunk as whores on sunday, or so impaired by hangover as to spend $56 on sandwiches, chips and beers from fucking Zupan. Don't even get me started on Zupan. Cocksuckers) to heart, and mailed one of his bikes up here.
This one, to be exact.
And frankly, Silas is fuckin beside himself.
See you soon, Hamachi. Don't forget your ball.

Continental
Lovely spread and interviews with 8 of the country's best builders, including Portland's own Ira Ryan and Tony Pereira.
I'm pretty whatever about Rapha. I dig their style, but it's pretty much good branding of the same Chinese shit that everyone else sells, just better looking and 3 times more expensive. They do seem to have a handle on creating a complete brand, and their influence, for such a new company, has been felt worldwide. Or at least anywhere that there are skinny men on nice bikes trying to capture something that just going out and riding seems to miss.
Check it. http://www.rapha.cc/continental/index.php?page=538

I got new glasses.
If you haven't done so already, you need to put in some time listening to this record.
You won't like it, but it will be good for you.
I left work at noon today to hang out with the Lads while wifey does the Pok.
Here's what the rest of my afternoon looks like:
Argue if you must, bitches, but that there's Man Food.
***********
I took off yesterday afternoon to hit up the Bye and Bye for a beer and some black-eyed peas, and I decided to ride the Colnago, which, as of late has been doing nothing but trailer duty. A shame since I just recently fit her with a new set of Veloflex Masters, which are absolutely the nicest tires I've had a chance to ride and also the hardest to mount since I have nice matching blisters on my thumbs from trying to roll them onto the rim.
I guess I was in a hurry to get out the door, and didn't realize my rear QR was looseish-- I only discovered this when I stood up to hammer thru a yellow and found myself otb in the middle of Burnside, rear wheel tangled in chain and me poor self roughly separated from the bike.
Deep tissue bruises are the sucks.
Wear your helmets, kiddies.
